CSULB Racing Club
So you didn't want to build your own car, you just want to race your own car? You probably would want to go to http://www.myspace.com/csulbracing and take a look at the information there. They are not a professional organization, they just have a good time. Below is a quote from their website
"Our vision for CSULB Racing is to give the students at Long Beach State somewhere they can safely and legally enjoy a spirited driving experience. Since our organization is new, we figure we will start small, and with a limited scope. This scope is, however, a touch larger than the resources available to us on the CSULB campus, and we are therefore going to join the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) and participate in autocross events set up by their organization. This will be cheaper in the long run than setting up our own operation on campus. These events will help to hone our members driving skills both on and off the track. Eventually, however, it is our goal to participate in wheel-to-wheel competition, possibly nation-wide, and to acquire one or more team cars. It is also an objective of the club to act as a community for "Car People"; a group who will share their skills and knowledge, a place to share common interests in all things automotive, and we hope that it will be an opportunity for fellow Gear-heads to get together and work on cars with like minded people. To accomplish these goals, we need dedicated members to help the club grow."
